Abstract
The following reflections constitute an attempt to assess the role of humanism and the social sciences in Panama. Since the theme is extremely complex and extensive, I have opted to observe the action of the same in a more limited geographical framework. I think that what happened in Azuero could reflect in some way the tendencies that are experienced in the rest of the Republic. For the achievement of the above purpose I will undertake that task within the thematic sections that I detail in this essay.
