Abstract

The following article is related with the meaning of education as knowledge management axis for de development of a society in all the contexts and strengthening the identity of the countries in the action implementation that lead to develop the human being potentials in a comprehensive and ethic way.  Raising comparative education as method that nations have been using to compare education systems, teaching structures, pedagogical theories, plans, programs, and educational methods. As of the revision of different authors pose the compared education as necessary science, as comparative method that allows defining a starting point, identifying the status where educational systems are and choose where the quality conditions for the development of higher education should focus, with the purpose of meet international trends, the diversity of institutions, the different modalities, academic programs level, and their harmonization with the Higher Education Quality Assurance System, according the approaches demanded by the current century, rising as example and reflection method the quality accreditation system in Colombia regulated by the Ministry of Education.
