Abstract

The study allowed to analyze a conceptual model ofteaching methodologies that promote competence in research skills students UMECIT - PANAMÁ. This research is characterized to present a qualitative and quantitative methodology, based on a field study descriptive, framed emphasis on educational research and teacher education as online. The population consisted of two hundred and thirty -six ( 236) teachers working at the Metropolitan University of Education, Science and Technology and the sample was not random intentional, using as criteria the participants ofthe seminar tutor training it being composed of fortyfour (44) . To collect the information an observation guide was used with seven (7) open items and a survey with thirty ( 30) items, with response categories : Yes - No, these were previously validated through technical judgment experts. Reliability is defined with Cronbach `s alpha coefficient, resulting in 0.98. Data were coded and tabulated manually, presented in frequency tables and bar charts. The result was that the respondent teacher makes little use of competition, poor knowledge about driving strategies that lead to the development of skills. Therefore, it is recommended to promote inter - institutional exchange of teachers and students as strategies for training and research methodologies in both levels ofthe university competitions.
