Abstract
Pregnant women are always concerned about the danger of tooth loss, bleeding and halitosis during the gestation process, also health professionals are concerned about the deterioration in the systemic disease of patients, this raises questions such as: How would this affect the nutritional status of the patient and baby, how is the mental health (self-esteem) of the mother affected by this deterioration, and how is the mental health (self-esteem) of the mother affected by this deterioration? An early diagnosis is the key to a successful treatment, even so, there is always the concern that the longer the gestation period, the greater the destruction of periodontal tissues? The proposed objective was to determine the relationship between the increase of periodontal diseases and gestational age in women from 18 to 45 years old, attended under the responsibility of the San Carlos Health Center in the first trimester of the year 2024. It is a Descriptive, Observational and Transversal study; the universe were the pregnant women who are attended at the Health Center and the sample was 139 pregnant women during the first trimester of 2024 in which 3 evaluations will be carried out (an initial, a control and a final one). Among the conclusions, it is highlighted that pregnant women should be oriented to maintain good oral health, since they will be replicators that will help their relatives, friends or acquaintances to eliminate myths and paradigms in order to enjoy a better quality of life.
