Abstract

The human being, in order to adapt and coexist with other organisms in this world, needs a body regulation system that at the same time constitutes the most important defense mechanism of the body, the immune system. In this article we will describe all the response mechanisms of the immune system, the attack that each foreign body receives when it enters the body, and what, depending on the type of foreign body, the immune system will respond due to its specificity. Periodontal disease is considered a public health problem, causing tooth loss, disability, masticatory dysfunction and poor nutritional status. The control of this disease is basically based on maintaining a balance, a balance that is achieved with healthy lifestyles, as well as regular visits to the dentist.
