Abstract
The purpose of this article was to analyze the use of forensic accidentology from the defense’s perspective in judicial cases, aiming to challenge and counter the evidence presented by the prosecution. A methodology based on the analysis of expert reports, review of relevant cases, and evaluation of evidence chain of custody was applied. The results indicated that the proper interpretation of technical data and the presentation of alternative evidence can significantly influence the outcome of a trial. The diagnosis highlighted the importance of a critical and independent assessment of the prosecution’s reports to ensure the fairness of the judicial process. In conclusion, forensic accidentology is a key tool for the defense, allowing the presentation of alternative theories and the dismantling of evidence that may be wrongly interpreted.
