Abstract

The purpose of this article was to determine the extent to which Percutaneous Therapeutic Electrolysis (PTE) contributed to tissue regeneration and its effectiveness as a treatment for musculoskeletal disorders, by analyzing its mechanisms of action and clinical benefits. A documentary methodology with a qualitative approach and bibliographic design was applied, based on the review of scientific studies on the clinical use of PTE. The materials used included academic articles, clinical trials, and systematic reviews obtained from scientific databases. Among the most relevant findings, it was evidenced that PTE generated a controlled inflammatory response that favored tissue repair, reduced pain, and improved functionality in chronic injuries such as tendinopathies and ligament injuries. The reviewed studies indicated significant improvements in recovery times and the quality of life of treated patients. These clinical benefits were interpreted as being linked to the physiological effects induced by galvanic current, which promotes cellular activation and tissue reorganization. Consequently, it was determined that Percutaneous Therapeutic Electrolysis is an effective, minimally invasive, and safe technique that provides significant benefits in the regeneration of tissues affected by musculoskeletal conditions.
