Abstract

Measures that include resistance training have been observed to improve insulin sensitivity, lipid profile, BMI, lean mass and reduce LDL cholesterol, waist circumference and systolic blood pressure, as well as increase muscle strength. Aerobic exercise improves body composition by reducing body weight and fat mass, produces beneficial changes in blood lipids, cardiovascular disease risk factors and aerobic fitness, and reduces liver and visceral fat, insulin resistance, waist circumference and muscle loss. Studies emphasize that the same amount of exercise should be repeated many times in a row until it is absorbed by the body, and when this goal is achieved, the type of exercise is gradually increased. The intensity of physical activity corresponds to the qualitative aspect of the effort and is expressed by parameters such as the speed of execution, the resistance exceeded, the load supported and the degree of difficulty of the training.
