Abstract
El Sistema Penal Acusatorio regulado por la Ley 63 del año 2008 constituye un cambio profundo de naturaleza instrumental referido a la forma de concebir el juzgamiento, dado el caso de que plantea la separación de funciones como principio rector en relación al rol de los intervinientes. Así, la defensa adquiere el contenido de un principio y de una parte indispensable en un sistema de juzgamiento sostenido en principios, reglas y garantías.
