Abordaje de la Inspección Técnica Ocular en medios de transporte en Panamá

Abstract

The purpose of this article was to analyze the procedure of the Forensic Inspection (ITO) in transportation means in Panama, with the aim of understanding its process and relevance in criminalistics. A descriptive methodology was applied, gathering information through interviews with experts and secondary source analysis. The most relevant findings include the importance of proper evidence collection and preservation, the application of specific search methods like the quadrant zone, and the existence of a procedural manual. It was also identified the need for clearer and more accessible protocols in the context of transportation means. The main conclusion of the article is that ITO is crucial in criminal investigations, but adjustments in procedures are needed to optimize efficiency and ensure proper evidence handling.
