Abstract
Define what forensic facial reconstruction expertise consists of, establish under what circumstances these reconstruction techniques are used and demonstrate what facial reconstruction expertise used in Panama consists of. This was done through exhaustive research, using as resources: investigative articles, educational resources, the directory of expert services of the IMELCF, and an interview with an expert member of the facial morphology unit of the IMELCF. It was concluded that forensic facial reconstruction techniques are tools used for individualization and identification, generally used in violent crimes, advanced decomposition processes or skeletonized remains. It is hard work where an interdisciplinary team works.
